New Wyandotte County Resource
Ebenezer Christian Fellowship Church (ECFC) is pleased to host students from the Friends University Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy program to offer no-cost therapy services provided by one of their graduate student therapists.
Who are Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs)?
MFTs specialize in systemic, relational dynamics (families/couples), verses focusing on individual work. MFTs view issues through a systemic lens, treating individual problems as part of a larger relational system.
While they can treat individuals, MFTs are specifically trained for couples counseling, family therapy, and treating relationship-based problems.
Site Mentor: LaTanya Davis-Dunn
LaTanya is a current an MFT with a temporary license to practice. She completed her clinical internship in August 2025. Her internship sites offered FREE therapy and she saw how beneficial having access to affordable mental health services was. This inspiration created a partnership with Ebenezer CFC and Friends University (her alumnus) to offer FREE onsite or telehealth services in Wyandotte County.
Here are some FREE services:
•Psychoeducation (ADHD, OCD, etc.)
•Wellness groups (grief, depression, etc.)
•Couple/family/individual therapy (Clients in Kansas and Missouri only)
•Host breakout sessions for conferences (ex. marriage; Gottman)
MFTs are ethically and legally bound to maintain client confidentiality, only disclosing information with written consent or when mandated by law.
